Hardin man denies charges in fatal crash
A 23-year-old Hardin man has denied a federal involuntary manslaughter charged filed after a fatal crash on the Crow Indian Reservation in December.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/104pmZK) Carl Chester Alden Jr., also pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault resulting in substantial injury to a person under the age of 16.
Federal prosecutors say Alden was driving drunk near Hardin on Dec. 17 when he caused the death of one person and injured two others, including a 15-year-old. The indictment does not identify the victims.
Alden is free pending trial.
