Man denies kidnapping, stabbing estranged wife
A 51-year-old Billings man has denied charges that he abducted and stabbed his estranged wife in November.
Richard Junious Hill Sr., pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and assault with a weapon during his arraignment Thursday in District Court. He also denied charges of tampering with evidence and negligent arson for allegedly cleaning blood from a van and clothing and later burning some clothing.
District Judge Susan Watters set Hill's bail at $75,000. He remained jailed Thursday.
Hill is charged with abducting his wife on Nov. 25, stabbing her in the arm and wrist and then driving her to Great Falls and Helena before returning her to Billings. The woman said Hill stopped in Helena after she pleaded with him to allow her to get medical treatment.
