Some rescued pit bulls ready for adoption
Idaho Humane Society officials say at least a dozen pit bulls rescued from a southern Idaho dog-fighting operation will be made available for adoption.
The organization - along with help from another group that specializes in pit bull rescue - completed evaluations of more than 60 dogs. The dogs were rescued earlier this month from the scene of a triple homicide near the small town of Holbrook.
Police are still investigating the crime, but there was also evidence of a marijuana growing operation and dog-fighting activity.
Of the group rescued and receiving treatment in Boise, about 12 have been cleared to be adopted in the next two weeks. Humane Society officials say adoption is based on continued medical monitoring and behavioral evaluations.
