State wildlife managers have captured and relocated a young female grizzly bear that got into food in two vehicles near the Spotted Bear ranger station in the Flathead National Forest.
Grizzly bear management specialist Tim Manley said Wednesday the bear got into a cooler left in the back of a pickup truck and used an open window to get dog biscuits off the front seat of another vehicle. Manley says the vehicles belonged to a contractor and a Forest Service employee.
Manley captured the bear on Saturday and released is Sunday near Whale Creek in the North Fork of the Flathead River drainage.
The grizzly was captured several years ago as a cub along with an adult female and a sibling after getting into apples.
