Downtown Bigfork was bustling Saturday morning with elves prepping the town for the holidays ahead.
Santa's little helpers, or rather, 200 volunteers spent the morning decorating the town in red and green, as they transform Bigfork into a Christmas village. It's a 30 plus year tradition in the town, and officials say it's one that's done with military precision. Volunteers earn new rankings each year they help in the decorating efforts.
"They all fit their little niche," said Secretary of Decorating Doug Averill. "Some like the playhouse, the school, athletics. Someone likes the decorating and you just fit in wherever you'd like to be as a volunteer. And we have people here from Texas today, from Florida, from Canada. They come from all over to make a weekend of it."
The Christmas decorations remain on display until mid-January.
