212 Montanans sign up through health exchange
Federal officials say 212 people in Montana signed up for insurance in the first month of the online marketplace that is a key part of the nation's new health-care law.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday released state-by-state numbers of people who enrolled through the new exchanges between Oct. 1 and Nov 2.
Health officials say a total of 2,683 people in Montana submitted applications through the federal exchange, and 212 selected plans.
Across the nation, 26,794 people in the 36 states relying on the federal exchange website - including Montana - managed to enroll for health insurance in the first month.
The federal website's rollout has been plagued by technical problems that have prevented most people from completing applications or even registering with the site.
