SANTA SOCKS
MISSOULA, Mont. -

Veterans around the Missoula community got a special Christmas delivery over the weekend.

NBC Montana caught up with Santa and his elves at Missoula Manor Retirement Home Sunday afternoon. 20 veterans got 'Santa Socks' filled with Christmas goodies, thanks to members of the United Veterans Council of Missoula and Ravalli Counties.

The Missoula Manor was one of the last stops this year. Deliveries have taken place every holiday season since 2008 to make sure vets are recognized during the holidays.

"Actually, they're the heroes...we're not the heroes for crying out loud," said World War II Veteran Bill Hepler. "We just did what we're supposed to do."

This year the elves handed out more than 350 gifts this year.
