Baker released from jail, ordered to wear GPS monitor
The former University of Montana football coach accused of physically assaulting his 8-month pregnant girlfriend has been released from jail but not without some specific conditions.
Shalon Baker appeared in Missoula County Justice Court Monday to ask for the pretrial supervision release.
The judge agreed to release Baker but he’ll have to wear a GPS monitor, he’s not allowed to have alcohol in his house, and can’t contact the alleged victim.
Baker was charged with felony aggravated assault last Thursday after he allegedly pushed, choked and slapped his girlfriend.
Baker started coaching wide receivers for the Griz in 2010, he was hired by former head football coach Robin Pflugrad. His contracted ended in January. Baker also played for the team from 1991-1994.
