Belgrade School Board meeting
BELGRADE, Mont. -

The Belgrade School District decided Tuesday on how much they'll ask taxpayers for in the upcoming election on a mill levy.

Belgrade Schools Superintendent Candy Lubansky told us the elementary district is asking for $544,504.57. The high school district's hoping to get $96,080.98

That'd be around a $48 annual increase on a $200,000 home.

That money would fund staff needed for the new elementary and other schools from increased enrollment, wage increases for current staff and partial funding for school resource officers.

Lubansky said now that they've voted on the price, they'll run it by the Gallatin County Commission before the mill levy goes out for a vote in May.

She wanted to clarify that they are asking for a mill levy, not a bond
