Billings man gets 20 years in prison for 14th DUI
A 55-year-old Billings man who has been convicted of driving under the influence 14 times has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
District Judge Susan Watters sentenced William Dean Grussing on Wednesday. She ordered him to complete a state alcohol treatment program before he is eligible for parole.
Grussing was sentenced as a persistent felony offender for the June 2012 DUI. He was out on bond after his 13th DUI arrest in June 2011 at the time of his 14th arrest.
In November, Grussing was sentenced to 13 months with the Department of Corrections for the 13th DUI. He could not be sentenced as a persistent felony offender at that time because he had not completed a state treatment program or received a DUI in the past five years.
