Bobcat fans snatched up the first public tickets on sale for the second round of Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs Monday morning. The second-ranked Montana State football team will host Stony Brook on Saturday.
The line wasn't too bad on Monday morning, just a couple hours after the Bobcat box office opened. It was about a 15-minute wait to get tickets for Saturday's playoff game.
But fans say it was a bit of a different story the minute doors opened. MSU alum Dan Stevenson lined up at 9 a.m., and said he waited 45 minutes for tickets. Later, he came back a second time for more tickets.
Fans young and old turned out to make sure they have a spot at this Saturday's Football Championship Subdivision playoff game against Stony Brook, the State University of New York.
Stevenson said his friend is flying in from Salt Lake City to see the game, and he's excited to root for his Bobcats.
"Good to see them make the playoffs, and really proud of the team and the coach," Stevenson said. "He does a great job of not only putting together a great football team, but really good human beings too. So that's the most important part to me."
Stevenson said he admires coach Rob Ash for working with the football players on the field and off -- but he can't wait to see how they perform on Saturday.
Kickoff is at 5 p.m. For anyone not attending the game, ESPN will carry the game via their online streaming service ESPN3.
Fans can purchase tickets at the Bobcat Ticket Office until Friday, November 30th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For assistance, please call 406-994-CATS (2287) or email email@example.com.
