California man pleads guilty after picking up Kalispell girl
A Southern California man pleaded guilty in a federal court to transporting a 12-year old girl across state lines with the intention of engaging in criminal sexual activity. According to the US Attorney’s Office, Edgard Le pleaded guilty on Thursday in Missoula.
Prosecutors say Le engaged in an online relationship with the girl, and that records show chats between the two saying they were in love and “engaged.”
Prosecutors say Le drove to Kalispell and picked her up last February, and the girl exited her house without notifying her parents. Authorities stopped Le’s vehicle near the Nevada state line in California.
Le will be sentenced on May 23.
