Murder charge dropped against Lincoln County man
COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. -

A 50-year old Columbia Falls man died after his vehicle went off a road on Sunday morning. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, at around 8:15 pm, the man was driving on Blackmer Lane in Columbia Falls when his 2005 Buick Century drifted off the right side of the road.

Troopers say the man overcorrected, and went off the road sideways and struck a fence. Troopers say the man’s vehicle continued through a yard and struck three trees. The driver was partially ejected through the front passenger side window. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road conditions were described as “bare and dry,” at the time of the crash.

According to MHP, the man wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, and speed is considered a factor. It is not known at this time if alcohol was a factor in the crash, and the incident remains under investigation. The man’s name has not been released at this time.
