Complaint filed over Missoula school board race ad
A school trustee has filed a complaint over an advertisement pledging a $10,000 "reward" to candidates interested in unseating incumbents in the Missoula County Public Schools election.
Scott Bixler sent his complaint to the state commissioner of political practices over the ad by real-estate agent John Suprock.
The Missoulian reports Suprock offered the contribution to candidates interested in unseating Bixler and trustees Toni Rehbein, Joe Toth and Drake Lemm.
The complaint says the ad does not have the proper disclosures and violates state law that says a person may not pay to induce another to be or refrain from being a candidate.
Mary Baker of the commission says Suprock can spend as much money as he wants as long as he acts on his own, without coordination.
