Early shopping season: Black Friday deals begin Thursday
MISSOULA, Mont. -

The holidays are quickly approaching, bringing with them all the sales and bargains that come with the season.

Many stores are opening their doors Thanksgiving night so shoppers can get a jump on the deals.

Walmart kicks off its Black Friday deals at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Target and Shopko will open their doors at 9 p.m.

Best Buy will open at midnight and Bed, Bath and Beyond will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

Missoula shoppers say when it comes to the busiest shopping day of the year they know to expect bustling stores and long lines.

“There are a lot of good deals on Black Friday,” said retail employee Ryan Church.  “It's a good time to get out and take advantage of those deals.”

Some folks say they think stores opening their doors Thanksgiving night cuts into family time.

“Nowadays the stores are opening at midnight on Thanksgiving and that night, to me, is pretty sacred as a family guy,” said Missoula resident Mike Leary.  “All I want to do that Friday is spend time with my family and watch football.”

Many stores are offering Black Friday deals online.  Internet retailers like eBay and Amazon are boasting abundant markdowns on a variety of products, so if you don't want to leave your home Thanksgiving evening you can always hop on your computer and browse online bargains.
