Flathead Valley Community College welcomed foreign visitors Monday as part of a leadership training program. A delegation representing the China Education Association for International Education were welcomed by FVCC administration with a traditional gift exchange.
The Chinese delegates will spend two weeks at the college, shadowing classes and learning more about FVCC's support from the community. The goal is to strengthen ties between US community colleges and China's technical and vocational schools.
"It's a very exciting opportunity in this global economy," said FVCC President Jane Karas. "It's important for our students to know about other countries and how what happens in those countries impacts what happens here in the United States, whether they stay here and work locally or move to other parts of the United States."
FVCC is just one of three 2-year schools hosting delegations this fall.
