Families spend Christmas on Whitefish slopes
For some Montanans, some time around a fire is enough of a Christmas. Others though, opt for a holiday in the fast lane.
On Tuesday, families made their way up to Whitefish Mountain Resort, citing short lift lines and a guaranteed “White Christmas” as their reasons. Skiers and snowboarders enjoyed a light snow, and a base of more than 65 inches up at the summit. NBC Montana caught up with a father and son who said Christmas on the mountain is a no-brainer.
“No lift lines, it’ll be easy to get a bunch of runs in pretty quickly, so get a few runs in then go cook a turkey this afternoon,” said New York resident Damien Dalla-Longa.
