Flathead Sheriff’s Office launches Community Watch program
The Flathead Sheriff’s Office is launching a Community Watch program, in an effort to help keep residents safe. Sheriff Chuck Curry says the purpose is for citizens to keep their homes secure, and to report suspicious activities.
Residents will set up networks with what are called “block leaders,” which is a person who can coordinate watch operations. Curry says the program isn’t to encourage vigilantes, and it’s been roughly a year in the making. The following is a list of upcoming Community Watch meetings, all of which run from 7 pm to 9 pm.
-Whitefish Middle School Auditorium, 66 2nd Street East, Whitefish, MT on November 12th.
-Bigfork Middle School at 600 Commerce Street, Bigfork, Mt on November 13th.
-Columbia Falls High School at 610 13th Street West, Columbia Falls, MT on November 14th.
-Northwest Montana Association of Realtors office at 110 Cooperative Way, Kalispell, Mt, on November 15th.
