Flathead Valley Gay Alliance backs Spirit Day
KALISPELL, Mont. -

GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation declared Friday, October 19th as Spirit Day. Spirit Day started in 2010 as a sign of support for LGBT youth and to speak out against bullying. GLAAD asks folks to wear purple on spirit day as a way to back their mission.

The Flathead Valley Gay Alliance has stood behind the notion of anti-bullying for nearly two decades by providing resources to enhance the lives of the valley's diverse population.

"We just want people to know that its okay to be who you are and give you a safe place to go," said FVGA President Dee Boyce.
