Gallatin Heart Rescue celebrated a major milestone Thursday. The organization reports after one year it's trained more than 5000 people in hands only CPR.
The organization was co-founded by Kevin Lauer. Lauer is an EMT with American Medical Response.
Survivors and family of survivors spoke at the event. They honored the officers and medical personnel who saved lives last year.
Gallatin Heart Rescue also took steps to expand it's life saving efforts.
The organization bought automatic electronic defibrillators, or AED's, and donated them to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office and Bozeman Police Department.
Since its founding, Gallatin Heart Rescue has spread across Montana and in to 11 other states. And organizers say they get more requests for training every day.
