Glacier superintendent to be chosen by May
The National Park Service says it plans to choose a permanent Glacier National Park superintendent by the end of April, despite a hiring freeze.
Kym Hall took over as interim superintendent after Chas Cartwright's retirement in December.
The park service is in a hiring freeze, but communications director James Doyle tells the Flathead Beacon it is undergoing a series of final interviews with the top candidates for Cartwright's replacement.
Intermountain Regional Director John Wessels will make the selection after a panel completes its review and narrows the list.
Doyle declined to say how many people applied or are still being considered. Hall says she has applied for the spot.
