The big Cat-Griz football game may not be until Nov. 17, but competition between fans has already started heating up.
UM and MSU students are facing off to see who can donate more blood to the American Red Cross before the big game.
UM students say they feel making the blood drive a competition brings out more students, faculty and Griz supporters than may normally show up to donate.
This year's Brawl of The Wild blood drive marks the seventh year the event has been held and students say they're happy to come out and show their school spirit while helping patients in need.
“I like how social donating blood is, because you really get to know the nurses and then you get to hang out at the table afterwards and munch,” said University of Montana sophomore Andrea Bruce.
If you want to support the Griz and donate blood it’s not too late
There's another blood drive Wednesday the 14th from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Jesse Hall, on the UM campus.
You can also donate blood the day before the big brawl, on Nov. 16, in the Continuing Education Building from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
