A new report by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) found that New Hampshire is the best state to live in the U.S. for many reasons, one of which is its low crime rate.

HAMILTON, Mont. -

A Hamilton man who authorities say was involved in a night of drinking and fighting with his wife has been charged with deliberate homicide after his wife was removed from life support and died.

Police say 47-year-old Douglas Charles Reynolds was charged Friday and was being held in the Ravalli County jail on $250,000 bail.

Police say 40-year-old Jessica Hawkins was found unconscious with a head injury in a motel room on Nov. 11. She was later declared brain dead and removed from life support, and died Tuesday in a Missoula hospital.

Police say Hawkins had a blood-alcohol level of 0.342, and that Reynolds had a level of 0.252 at the time.

Reynolds told police he struck Hawkins several times before going to bed, then found her unconscious in the morning.
