HAMILTON, Mont. -

A Hamilton woman has been convicted of two of three charges related to making marijuana-infused candy that a young girl distributed on a school bus.

The Ravalli County District Court jury deliberated for nearly eight hours before convicting the woman of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and endangering the welfare of children.

She was acquitted of accountability for possession of marijuana.

A student told authorities her mother, the defendant, produced the candies, and her stepfather was a medical marijuana provider.

The Ravalli Republic reports the candy was made when no children were around, but the stepfather left it on the counter and no children were supposed to be in the home while they were on vacation last spring.

District Court Judge Jeffrey Langton set sentencing for May 15.
