MISSOULA, Mont. -

Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman confirmed to NBC Montana that a helicopter experienced a crash landing around noon on Tuesday.

The crash happened south of Darby in the Bitterroot Valley, on private property, near Connor.

Hoffman says at this time all injuries are reportedly minor.  Hoffman also tells us the FAA will investigate the incident.

NBC Montana spoke with a Darby resident who says he was at a nearby ranch before the crash, and saw the copter flying around, and then when he was nearby again, he saw a swarm of emergency responders.

“We were on a ranch about a mile [away from where] the copter crashed…From what I hear, he said when he was coming in to land, and set down, it just quit and then dropped,” said Darby resident Jerry Rall.
