GREAT FALLS, Mont. -

Former Boise State football player and Montana State assistant coach Joe O'Brien - who made a very public fall from grace when he was arrested on federal drug charges in 2003 - is continuing his similarly public redemption.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (http://gftrib.com/15fBxed ) O'Brien spoke Tuesday to about 250 high school student council leaders meeting in Great Falls.

O'Brien recounted his troubled childhood and said while he did well in school and appeared to be a leader, he was using drugs and failed to seek help. After spending more than two years in prison, O'Brien has written a book, started a construction company and a family.

His speech was filmed by crews from ESPN's "Outside the Lines" series, as was a February board meeting in which O'Brien was hired to coach the Simms High School football team. The story is scheduled to air in June.
