A judge wants to know who will be footing the medical bills of a man convicted of killing a pedestrian in Missoula in a fatal drunk-driving crash in 2011.
Judge Dusty Deschamps ordered Brian Holm's attorney to disclose who funded Holm's recent heart surgery and whether the state will be responsible for his expenses in custody.
Deschamps sentenced Holm to 15 years in prison more than a year ago, but the sentence was delayed during a failed appeal and Holm was allowed to travel to Minnesota for the operation.
The Missoulian reports (http://bit.ly/14DxDve ) Holm was determined to be indigent. He was convicted of killing 24-year-old Brian Beaver of Aberdeen, Wash.
Deschamps says if Holm is on Medicaid, he wants to know whether Medicaid will continue to pay for Holm's expenses.
