Kalispell man pleads not guilty to charges following police chase
A Kalispell man pled not guilty in a Flathead district court on Thursday, to several charges stemming from a police chase in an allegedly stolen car on January 3. An Evergreen couple ultimately caught 26-year old Jordan Elliot, holding him at gunpoint until officers arrived.
Elliot’s felony charges include theft, criminal endangerment, assault with a weapon, and assault on a peace officer. A judge had set his bail at $75,000. According to prosecutors, the incident began when Flathead deputies investigated a stolen car report, and ended up pursuing Elliot at speeds up to 100 mph.
According to court documents, an Evergreen man tried to detain Elliot after he had fled his car. Elliot allegedly grabbed that man’s flashlight and hit him several times with it. According to court records, the man’s girlfriend got a rifle from their home, and struck him in the face with the barrel.
