Final results were released just after noon on Wednesday. Officials say they wanted to take their time with such a crucial election.
In District 1, interim commissioner Cal Scott edged out Gil Jordan by nearly 10 percent - he received 55 percent of the vote. District 3's Gary Krueger won against Clara Mears-Lachappelle, 68 percent to 32 percent. Krueger will fill the position of retiring commissioner Dale Lauman.
Scott has had some experience so far, but Krueger said he's excited and feels it will be a learning experience.
"Lowering the taxes and keeping taxes lower for people in our area and providing services that are related to public health and safety and are essential to our people," Scott said of his goals for the county. "And to include in that a foresight and planning along with our growth policy to provide for solid growth planning to promote business and industry."
"Wow, it's finally here," exclaimed Krueger, "that's what's running through my mind! I was kind of preparing for this day and hoping that I would be. I'm not overwhelmed, it's kind of business as usual!"
Krueger and Scott will be sworn into their commissioner positions in January.
