Murder charge dropped against Lincoln County man
VALLEY VIEW, Mont. -

A standoff in Lake County ended peacefully on Saturday night. Deputies say the incident happened in the Eli Gap and Apple Road area of Valley View. According to Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin, a 45-year old Ronan man reportedly man stood outside a home threatening to kill himself.

The man allegedly shot himself in the stomach before officers arrived. Authorities say the man asked to talk to family members who weren’t on scene.

The stand-off ended at about 7:20 pm after about an hour. The man reportedly surrendered in exchange for a jug of water. Responders took him to St. Joseph’s hospital to be treated for his injuries and evaluated.
