Armed Robbery
MISSOULA, Mont. -

The attorney for a former University of Montana football player denies his client's involvement in a violent armed robbery Tuesday at Jay's Mart in south Missoula.

26-year-old Timothy Parks, former cornerback for the 2007 Grizzlies football team, was arrested in connection to the robbery Wednesday night, along with another former player and 3 other suspects.

According to the Missoula County Jail Roster, Parks was being held for tampering with evidence. He was released early Thursday morning after posting a $10,000 bail.

Attorney Paul Ryan, who's representing Parks, released a statement following Parks' release:

"In no way was Timothy Parks at the scene of the robbery, nor did he participate in the attack. We do not believe prosecutors will file charges against Mr. Parks."

The Missoula County Attorney's office is expected to file charges against the other four suspects on Friday.
