HELENA, Mont. -

Lawmakers and Gov. Steve Bullock are hashing out final budget and tax differences with just a few days remaining at the legislature.

Bullock on Tuesday sent Republican lawmakers a list of issues he has with the main budget bill, House Bill 2.

The budget has not yet reached his office. Lawmakers are hoping to negotiate an agreement in advance.

But the differences seem small out of a roughly $10 billion budget plan. Bullock is asking for changes that amount to about $10 million, such as more funding for child protective service workers and prisons.

Both sides also were finalizing a business equipment tax cut measure. Senate Bill 96 would exempt up to $100,000 in business equipment from taxation and cut in half the 3 percent rate for others.
