Missoula Symphony hosting holiday concert
The Missoula Symphony is putting on its 13th annual “Holiday Pops” concert this Saturday and Sunday. The holiday concert is one of the most popular put on by the symphony every year.
As is tradition the symphony will be joined by the 100-plus members of the Missoula Chorale. Together they'll perform such pieces as the Nutcracker March, Jingle Bells and The Skaters' Waltz.
Symphony conductor Darko Butorac says they'll be engaging the audience in an "encore auction." Audience members will put money on their favorite holiday song and whichever earns the most will be the last song to be played at the concert.
This year’s “Holiday Pops” concert is already sold out, however Butorac says there are always a few folks who don’t show up and he advises folks who want a chance to catch the tunes to head down to the Dennison Theatre on the University of Montana campus Saturday or Sunday afternoon and put your name on a ticket waiting list.
