Missoula's Partnership Health Center has been recognized as a Level Three facility for the Patient Centered Medical Home 2011 care standard.
PCMH is an innovative program for improving primary care The program gives practices information about organizing care around patients, working in teams and coordinating and tracking care over time through a set of standards that describe clear and specific criteria.
This means that patients of a PCMH practicing facility will receive a level of care not found in more traditional settings.
"What it tells a patient is that our interest is in taking care of them for a long period of time, making sure they can get access to use when they need us. It tells them, don't go to the emergency room. Come somewhere where we know you, and we have other ways to treat your illness," says Mary Jane Nealon, Director of Integration for Partnership.
The National Comittee for Quality Assurance released the recognition earlier in January.
