MISSOULA, Mont. -

The name of the man who committed suicide in the Missoula County Detention Center last week is now being released.

His name is Danny Wayne Johnston.  Johnston was being held for a probation violation and sexual intercourse without consent.

The Missoula County Sheriff's office reported he was found unresponsive in his cell early Friday morning.

Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jason Johnson said the man was found alone in his cell during a routine check by detention officer. They check every cell, every half hour. Johnson said CPR was conducted but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Johnson said the inmate was not on suicide watch. “There wasn't any indication with detention staff that were any related issues or problems with suicide.”

Johnson said the Missoula County Sheriff's Office sends their condolences to the family and friends affected by the incident.
