Thursday was an important day for graduates of Missoula's Lifelong Learning Center.
97 people graduated and received their GED's at a ceremony held at The Lifelong Learning Center Thursday evening. Graduates ranged from ages 16 to 63.
Monique Fortmann has been the director of the learning center for 22 years and she says the biggest difference she sees now compared to her first year is that more students are continuing on to different types of higher education after receiving their GED’s.
“When we talk to these folks who are going through this ceremony tonight, they're looking forward to better employment and they're looking forward to going on to post-secondary education,” said Fortmann. “They know that they're making a difference and it's a big accomplishment for them.”
