Court case may change face of domestic violence laws
THOMPSON FALLS, Mont. -

A Thompson Falls man has pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide while under the influence following a head-on crash in September that killed two people.

The Missoulian reports (http://bit.ly/WAkmuw ) in a story published Saturday that 46-year-old Lance Pavlik also pleaded guilty to two counts of felony criminal endangerment because two children suffered broken legs when his pickup truck and a car collided west of Thompson Falls on Sept. 8.

The crash killed 32-year-old Jeremiah Abel Bennett of Thompson Falls and his fiancee, 23-year-old Christina Rae Jackson of Noxon. Bennett's children, ages 4 and 2, were injured. Court records say Pavlik's blood-alcohol level was 0.245, or just over three times the legal limit, shortly after the crash.

Pavlic is scheduled to be sentenced March 12.
