Missoula police arrested a retired Missoula teacher for allegedly abusing a disabled man at an assisted living home.
40-year Missoula resident Ronald Dunn was living at Emeritus at Hunter’s Glen Assisted Living home when he was reported exhibiting inappropriate behavior with another resident.
Court documents show the victim Dunn is accused of abusing is the 73-year-old male with a medical condition that prevents him from speaking. The victim's family members think that condition prevented him from reporting Dunn to authorities himself.
Police said Dunn has no prior criminal history.
The Montana Department of Health and Human Services regulates assisted living homes. Spokesman Jon Ebelt said his agency investigated the home and found they were in full compliance with state regulations.
"In this situation, we've discovered that they've made all the appropriate contacts, and worked to protect its residents, so it wouldn't really be a licensing issue," said Ebelt.
A district court judge set Dunn's bail at $25,000 dollars.
