Senator Jon Tester paid a visit to Kalispell on Wednesday to discuss the city’s future with city staff and council members. Planning staff and public safety officers also spoke with the senator about topics ranging from social security to training equipment for officers.
One of the major topics was the city’s Highway 93 bypass. Millions already went into the first half of the project, and no federal funds have come through for the second half. Tester says he will help look for options.
“We’re going to continue to support it, to get it to come to its fruition because I think it does good things for the Flathead and I think it does good things for job creation in an area that really needs job creation,” said Tester.
