Vigil honors stabbing victim
MISSOULA, Mont. -

At 6:30 tonight, more than 100 people from the Deer Lodge area gathered for a candle light vigil.

They came together at the Pen Convention Center on Main Street in Deer Lodge to honor the memory of 66-year-old Tina Schowengerdt.

Court papers say 65-year-old Dennis Schowengerdt turned himself in to police Sunday morning, claiming he stabbed his wife, Tina, to death Saturday night and left her to die.   The couple's home is in the Racetrack area outside Deer Lodge.

Members of the community say Tina Schowengerdt volunteered with children and was well liked.

Dennis Schowengert is in jail, waiting to plead to charges.
