Washington man faces multiple felonies after high speed chase
A Washington man is facing multiple felonies after allegedly leading police on high speed chase Sunday afternoon.
According to court records, drivers reported a silver Dodge car matching one driven by 30 year old John-Carlo De Guzman driving erratically in a construction zone near Logan.
Troopers say when they tried to stop the diver, he refused and sped up. The chase reportedly reached speeds of more than 90 miles an hour.
Police deployed "stop sticks" around the Mile Marker 306 in the east bound lane of I-90, but were able to stop the car before it hit them.
Troopers ordered De Guzman out of the car at gun point and say they had to forcibly remove him.
Court documents say police discovered two guns in the car, a .38 special and a 12 gauge shotgun, and glass pipe commonly used smoke methamphetamine.
The judge set bond at $30,000.
