Alberta man sentenced in child predator case
A Canadian man has been sentenced to four years in prison for responding to a Craigslist ad posted by sex crimes investigators that sought a man to teach a 12-year-old girl about sex.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 32-year-old Thomas Andrew Quinton was sentenced Thursday after earlier pleading guilty to travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
Prosecutors say Quinton responded to the ad and exchanged numerous texts with someone he believed to be the 12-year-old girl's aunt. Many of the texts were of a sexual nature. Charging documents say Quinton also sent two graphic photos.
Quinton was arrested on July 3 in Great Falls when he arrived at a house being used by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
