BELGRADE, Mont. -

A Gallatin County Judge set bail at $100,000 for a Belgrade man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl.

20-year-old Alex Jesse Davis is charged with sexual intercourse without consent, sexual abuse of children and knowingly living in a house where marijuana is illegally manufactured.

We were there when Davis appeared in court Tuesday morning.

According to court documents, Davis befriended the 15-year-old girl on Facebook. The two exchanged nude photos of themselves before Davis asked her to meet for sex. Records indicate the girl told Davis "no" repeatedly before finally agreeing to meet him.

We read through court documents and spoke to neighbors. Documents indicate Alex Davis picked up the 15-year-old girl at the beginning of the school day near Belgrade High School on January 17.

Investigators say he drove her to a field on Jackrabbit Lane and made sexual contact before taking the girl to his home on Frontage Road.

The girl alleges Davis raped her in his bedroom. He reportedly stopped when his mother arrived. Davis then dropped the girl off at school where she confided in a school counselor.

After interviewing the alleged victim, police drew up a search warrant. While looking for evidence, they found 20 marijuana plants.

We talked to one of Davis's neighbors who says he was shocked to hear what happened at trailer number 13. Bob Arnold has lived in his trailer, kitty corner to Davis's for six years. He says Davis and his roommate never caused any trouble in the neighborhood.

"Really quiet, never came out much," says Arnold. That's why he says he didn't know what to think when he saw police at Davis's trailer.

"You rarely ever see anybody over there so, I didn't know what was going on, if somebody was sick or what," recalls Arnold.

Arnold tells us he doesn't support illegal marijuana grow operations but says it's the alleged sex assault that really bothers him.

"He was old enough, evidently, to be aware that she was underage. He should have took her home and been a good guy about it," Arnold says.

We contacted police for a statement, but they told us they were unavailable for comment.

A Gallatin County Judge set bail at $10,000 for Davis's roommate. Lance Michael Smith is charged with Manufacturing Dangerous Drugs, a felony. According to court records, Smith admitted he and Davis were growing pot in their home together.

Records indicate Davis denied he ever had a role in growing the plants. Neither are registered medical marijuana patients or caregivers.
