Billings man arrested in home invasion assaults
Police in Billings say they have made an arrest in connection with two home invasion robberies in which three elderly women were assaulted, including two nuns.
Officers say 32-year-old Christopher Pine of Billings is believed to have been involved in the break-ins late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Pine was arrested Friday on suspicion of aggravated burglary and robbery.
Police were investigating after someone broke into a house late Tuesday, beat a 76-year-old woman, took credit cards and her car. About three hours later, two people broke into the home of two nuns, assaulting both and taking a credit card and other items.
Police say the stolen car was recovered.
The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth say 90-year-old Sister Mary Vincentia Maronick and 79-year-old Sister Clara Scherr were doing well Friday morning.
