MISSOULA, Mont. -

Lake County Sheriff's officials believe a body found in a field near St. Mary's road belongs to a missing St. Ignatius woman.

52-year-old Mary Jean Decker was reported missing 2 weeks ago.

Undersheriff Dan Yonkin says a landowner found the body, wearing clothes that match the description of the one's Decker was last seen in, on Thursday and notified authorities.

Responders arrived with land trackers, who determined the woman fell into a canal nearby, crawled out, and then passed away where she was found.

Yonkin says it appears the woman was alone, and no foul play is suspected.

The body has been sent to the Montana State Crime Lab for positive identification and an autopsy.
