KALISPELL, Mont. -

Bond for a Whitefish woman charged with stabbing her husband has been reduced from $75,000 to $25,000.

The Daily Inter Lake reports (http://bit.ly/19kFwtN) that the bond for 39-year-old AnnMari Newton was reduced Friday during a District Court hearing.

Newton pleaded not guilty to assault with a weapon on Thursday.

Police say she stabbed Chad Newton in the chest on Nov. 25. He's been at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center where medical staff says he's unresponsive and not expected to improve.

Authorities say a guardianship has been set up to give his father permission to make medical decisions, including removing him from life support.

At the hearing Friday, a neighbor testified that Chad Newton had been in a downward spiral, and threatened to kill himself and his wife.
