Boogie boarder dies in Boise River
Police say a 23-year-old Boise man has died in the Boise River.
Authorities say the man was using a boogie board in the river Saturday afternoon with a rope attached to a tree.
Friends tell police that when they last saw the man he appeared to be pulling himself toward shore with the rope. The friends say they walked away for a short time and when they returned the man was under water.
Police say it appears the man's boogie board became stuck in some tree branches. Police say an ankle strap connecting the man to the boogie board might have pinned him under water.
The friends pulled the man from the river but life-saving measures failed.
The man's name hasn't been released.
