BOZEMAN, Mont. -

As we near elections next month, we are taking a look at the races and the candidates behind them. There are five people seeking one of the two open seats on the Bozeman city commission.

Alisa Voris is one of those candidates, and this will be her first time running. She has only lived in Bozeman since 2012 but has a long list of family members who grew up in Bozeman including her parents who both went to Bozeman High and graduated from Montana State University.

Alisa now works as an administrative assistant for Cellular One. Voris tells us she loves Bozeman and all it has to offer. If elected Voris would like the opportunity to work on areas such as the environment, compact development and public safety.

"I would like to improve ADA facilities in this town. I would like to improve school crosswalks by having them more well lit and features such as flags that children can fly back and forth," said Voris.

Ballots for Bozeman Municipal elections were sent out on Monday.
