BOZEMAN, Mont. -

As we near elections next month, we are taking a look at the races and the candidates behind them. Five people are seeking one of the two open seats on the Bozeman city commission.

Brett Potter is one of those candidates. He is a local architect who was born and raised in the Gallatin Valley and graduated from Bozeman High School. Potter tells us he considered his run for city commission in June.

He tells us he is passionate about neighborhood and community places like Bogert Pool. If elected, Potter hopes to make housing more affordable in Bozeman.

"One of the things I am really passionate about is trying to find ways we can create more opportunities for young families to be able to stay and live here. It is really hard to live in Bozeman, to stay here and raise a family," said Potter.

This will be the first time Brett has run for a political office.

If you would like to meet the candidates yourself, you can on October 22. The forum begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
