Bozeman man charged in shooting death
A 25-year-old Bozeman man is charged with deliberate homicide for a fatal shooting outside a house party last month.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Cody Christopher Little is charged with shooting 24-year-old Larry "LJ" Clayton of Belgrade in the abdomen. Clayton died at a Seattle hospital.
Little also is charged with two counts of attempted deliberate homicide after James Armstrong was shot in the leg and Rielley Ray said Little pointed the shotgun at his face and pulled the trigger. The gun didn't fire. Court records say Armstrong may still have to have his lower leg amputated.
Ray told officers that Little and Armstrong were arguing when Little left and returned with a shotgun, firing a shot in the air before shooting Clayton and then Armstrong.
Little has said he was defending himself.
